Hi, I'm Mya!

I’m a ceramic artist, painter, crocheter, and atmospheric scientist from the great cornfields of Nebraska! I made my visual arts debut via a ceramics class taken during the Spring 2020 semester, was immediately placed into lockdown, then rebounded with a paint-by-number completed over the course of hundreds of Zoom classroom hours. Eventually, I upgraded my paint-by-number to blank canvases and found my way back into the ceramics studio, kickstarting what would become my real art career.

My primary art form has varied since 2020. When I attended college in Oklahoma and Honolulu, the availability of my university ceramics studio allowed me to experiment with wheel-thrown forms and daring glaze combos. A move to Asheville spurred my interest in figurative sculpture and inspired me to start painting my surroundings. As soon as I arrived in Boulder, I started painting every natural landmark around the city. Now that I’ve settled in one location for a while, I’ve picked up a more introverted love of crochet.

I welcome you to look through my full portfolio! Although I’m predominately painting at the moment, I have never dropped an artistic hobby. You can find me in the pottery studio, trying out plein air, sculpting Christmas ornaments, or crocheting in my living room. It’s such a wonderful way to live :)
