Portfolio: sculptural

I adore figurative sculpture because it conveys the gentleness and imperfection of working with clay via the human form. This work draws heavily from my queer experience and constant challenge of gender identity, and I love watching my sculptural style change as these facets of myself evolve.

I invite you to look through my figurative portfolio the way you'd look at a landscape or a sunset, setting aside beauty standards and gendered expectations to experience the work with minimal preconceived notions. Notice the way the clay's texture adds a rough softness to the sculpture. Notice the ways that creases interact with curved surfaces. This work is not meant to represent an object, but a softened gaze.
